Training Mission Statement

The Primary mission of the Training Division of the Culpeper County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association and Culpeper County Office of Emergency Services is to prepare our volunteer fire and rescue departments to serve our community efficiently and effectively by every means possible, and to ensure safety for our fire and EMS providers while delivering this service. It is the further mission of this division to provide initial and on-going training, education and certification to fire and EMS personnel of Culpeper County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments, ensuring a competent, efficient and effective emergency response organization.

COES Joint Training

The Culpeper Office of Emergency Services has extended an invitation to CCVFRA companies to join them for their CE training courses. Please bring your CURRENT certification card or a very clear copy so it can be scanned in leu of bubble cards. All classes are geared for ALS and BLS providers awarding Category 1 credit for the area numbers listed. Contact George Kefer for any questions at 540-423-2184.

Emergency Vehicle Operations Class 1,2,3
Dates:	June 10 & 11, 2017 8:00am-5:00pm	A course designed to enhance safe vehicle operation by stressing theory and principles of defensive driving in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Virginia Motor Vehicle laws pertinent to the operation of emergency vehicles is included in the course. This class is not designed to teach the student to drive, but rather to explain how emergency driving differs from non-emergency driving. Although some driving experience will be gained through the practical exercises it is strongly recommended that the student have adequate driving experience in the vehicle. The course requires 16 hours of instruction (100% attendance required for certification). ALL STUDENTS MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 18 YEARS OF AGE AT THE BEGINNING DATE OF THE COURSE AND HAVE A VALID UNRESTRICTED OPERATOR’S LICENSE SPECIAL NOTES: Student manual will be furnished the first day of class.
