Thank you for your interest in membership at one of Culpeper County's volunteer fire and rescue companies. The Culpeper County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association (CCVFRA) is comprised of eight member companies.
We depend on active members and support staffing to serve the community. A conservative estimate of the current replacement value of volunteer assets alone would be $27 million dollars ($11.6 million in equipment and $16 million in structures). To replace the volunteers with a paid staff that could handle the area would cost the tax payers an additional $15-$20 million annually.
We are looking for individuals who are willing to dedicate their time and energy towards the improvement of our community. You will be entering a very rewarding, yet fulfilling career that allows for personal growth and experiences. Whether you are interested in Fire, EMS, Support or any combination thereof, we welcome you with open arms.
We appreciate and honor our volunteers every chance we get. Culpeper County provides our volunteers with:
Personal protective gear
Workers compensation coverage
Many companies have Junior programs that allow for young people interested in serving their community to participate.
You and other members are given the responsibility of maintaining buildings and valuable equipment. It is for these reasons a background and DMV license check is performed on all applicants. Anyone convicted of abuse, sexual crimes or felonies is not eligible for membership.
Once the background check has been completed, your application will be forwarded to the company to which you have applied. Someone from that company will contact you concerning the membership process.
We hope that you will accept the challenge and join our team of dedicated volunteers!
